Fellows

Community Fellows, working out of communities and provinces throughout Canada, are leaders specialising in the field of early child development. The role of the Fellows focuses on increasing community engagement and building relationships across sectors in support of early human development. Fellows encourage communities to consider the implications of the science and support communities in finding their own solutions. These knowledgeable, committed individuals provide the link between the Council's vision and strategic goals and what's happening right now on the ground in Canadian communities (‘action').

The goals of the Community Fellows program are:

  • To build regional, provincial and local leadership, expertise and knowledge (capacity) in the science of ECD through:
    • Training and education;
    • Information sharing;
    • Network development;
    • Problem solving through collaboration.
  • To build capacity throughout the country to realize the strategic goals and activities of the Council.
  • To ensure the unique relevance of the Council region by region, province by province.
